Artist Relations

ToneConcepts Inc. works with artists in the development and testing of the products and brands we manufacture and represent.   We are fortunate to have a good relationship with some of the most esteemed guitarists across several genres of music.

Our basic approach is to contact artists who we admire and who we feel would be a good fit for our products.  We often hold extensive tests with artists in the studio, back-stage or on-stage, prior to shows and during sound-checks.  This allows the artist to test our products through the studio or live rigs and affords us the opportunity to get extensive and invaluable feedback.

Some of the artists using brands we represent include Jon Abercrombie, Jeff Berlin, Nels Cline, Dallas Green, David Hidalgo, Anthony Jackson, Julien Kasper, Greg Koch, Jonny Lang, Bernie Madsen, Robert Randolph, Cesar Rosas, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Slide Brothers, Dweezil Zappa and more.

Nels Cline
Long a fan of Nels Cline’s solo work and his work with Wilco, we approached Nels in the fall of 2009. We thought that Nels would be the perfect artist through which to introduce our products to a North American audience.

Initial testing took place at Toronto’s Massey Hall during Wilco’s two night residency on October 14th and 15th, 2009. Nels’ tested a JAM Pedals and Crazy Tube Circuits range. At that time, he selected that JAM Pedals Rattler, Delay Llama+ and TubeDreamer+ along with Crazy Tube Circuits Ziggy Ltd.  Nels has also helped test of line hand wired, NOS component T1 Amp prototypes.

Nels Cline owns many of our pedals and primarily uses:

JAM Pedals: Delay Llama+, Rattler, Rattler+, TubeDreamer+

Crazy Tube Circuits: Starlight, Vyagra Boost, Pin Up Fuzz, Splash Mk. 2 Reverb, Ziggy and Ziggy Ltd.
